That reminds me, what's the big industry in Texarkana?

Texarkana's economy dabbles in a little bit of everything. Our largest employers are Red River Army Depot, the paper mills: IP and Domtar and the hospitals.

The paper mills are awesome for employment, but horrible for the air. Man, you have IP to the west and Domtar to the north... when the winds are just right, Texarkana stinks!! That's not a jab at Texarkana, though, it's a great place. I just hate it when you can smell the paper mills. When I lived there, that's the one thing I couldn't get used to over that short 5 months.

Windstream will have to trim the fat a bit as it has duplicated services from Alltel's wireline division and the company it acquired in Irving, TX that formed Windstream. I have a feeling that it will have to do a bit more of this much as Tyson did when it acquired the large pork and beef company in South Dakota (IBP?).
