I think the parks that are most at risk are the ones along Jefferson such as Gabriel Richard, Owen and Henderson. I'm sure the city would gladly hack those parks up if a developer came along and asked to build condos there. Hell, I wouldn't mind them breaking up most of Gabriel Richard Park. It would be great to see a small section of the park saved as an extension of the riverwalk, but it's pointless to have a park at the entrance to a park...

Tonight (Nov. 1) at 7 pm the City Council will hold a Town Hall Meeting at

St. Thomas Aquinas School, 5845 Auburn St., Detroit, MI 48228) followed by

a "Rouge Park is Saved Celebration" at 8:30 pm. Come get your "SAVED"

bumper sticker to add to your Save Rouge Park sign.

Come just for the celebration at 8:30 or come for the meeting at 7:00

and stay for the celebration. The Friends of Rouge Park will be doing a

brief presentation at the meeting.
