Oooooh, I LOVE that building...

This is a great project overall - 25% affordable housing units, AND included public amenities in the trail linkage, and the developer is happy because the project got fast-tracked approval. Right on!

This is what can happen with the right developer and the right inclusionary zoning in place.

Live Local - Harris

This is great for the town of Coventry and the business district at Phenix Square just over the line in West Warwick. Many of the area business owners have stepped up and renovated the old storefronts, breathing new life into the old mill village. It's a nice walkable place to live, with just about all the services you need (except maybe a supermarket).

More residential property on the tax rolls, much-needed affordable housing added, and the Pawtuxet Riverwalk component! Looks like a winner for the builder and the community.

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I remember walking by this mill complex along the old Washington secondary line in the late 70's. Right over the bridge, there are plenty of amenities (barber shop, NY system weiner place, Bill's Place pizza, etc.). While not a 'real' grocery store - the Cumberland Farms in this area is a rather large one with most of the basics. RIPTA route 29 to Arctic Center and Cowesett Corners (Stop and Shop and much more in that plaza/area) will provide access to plenty of other amenities.
