Heck yes you should!!! I'm glad you're going, man, and with your nifty new DSLR camera too. Put on a really nice zoom lens and lens hood, and maybe you'll be mistaken for press and allowed down front. :D

According to KTBS 3, the Saints and the NFL have come to an agreement and the game will NOT be blacked out locally.

:yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:

That's good to hear..they just said that it was blacked out on Channel 6 here in New Orleans...I hope they are wrong for the fans up in Shreveport. Channel 6 reports they are expecting about 45,000 for the game tomorrow night.

I guess tomorrow night will be the real test. I only hope your TV station is wrong... I'd love to watch the game, and not have to sit in near 100-degree weather to do so.

Wow! Thanks posting that. Very interesting. I did not know that.

I didn't either, but I was surprised to read it! :)

By the way, I saw the Saints players coming into Shreveport this afternoon. The news said they wouldn't arrive in the city until this afternoon and they were right. I was driving on I-20 through downtown Shreveport when my radar detector went nuts. Then I looked over in the westbound lanes and about 20 police cars from many different municipalities came through leading two charter buses. No doubt in my mind that's who was in those charter buses.

Sweet. I can imagine.

Pardon my childish enthusiasm. :D It's just not something you see around here every day. We don't even have a big college, let alone an NFL team! It's pretty cool... and now I'm feeling the excitement and wanting to go to the game! I could buy my tickets on a credit card, but that would be crazy. As far as cash goes, I'm strapped right now.

Newsflash,

PetroSun has been named as the title sponsor for the Independence Bowl for 2006-2008.

I admit that i don't know anything about this company and maybe we will hear more in the coming days.

Here is the link.

Just thought everyone should know.

AWESOME! I've never heard of them either, but hey... a sponsor is a sponsor at this point! It's great to see!!

Edit: oops! Looks like the Saints arrived YESTERDAY at 'Diamond Jack's Casino Resort.' Today what I saw must have been them going from the resort to the stadium. I know I saw Bossier City, Shreveport, and Louisiana State Police escorting the buses. :D

Okay, now I'm outta here... ready to go eat my dinner and plop down in front of the TV. :D

They showed a nice shot on ESPN of the Shreveport riverfront and the high-rise hotel(El Dorado)? and skyline in the background.

The Saints had two opportunities inside the 2 yard-line but failed to score each time; including a fumble at the one yard-line. That could have made the score alot closer. But no excuses the Cowboys and Bledsoe/Glenn put-on a clinic and thumped the Saints. Ouucchh.

They did have opportunities, you are correct. I prefer closer games than this, so while I was happy to see that my guys one even without T.O., I was less than thrilled with the score throughout. For a while I thought the Saints would catch up, but that just never happened.

Anyway the shot of Shreveport was taken from the Boardwalk. Those huge light towers they showed in the foreground, as they panned down to show the Shreveport skyline across the river, are ligth sculptures that line the entire riverfront portion of the Boardwalk. I can't seem to find any photos of these light towers online, but here's a cool interior shot of the Boardwalk, with the Horseshoe Hotel in the background, from Wikipedia:

Who cares!? ;)

The winners. :P

Man, the Saints need to go back to the chalkboards when it comes to defense...Dallas creamed us with the run and the pass...I was not a happy Saints fan. In regards to the game being in Shreveport, I was proud for Shreveport to be in the national spotlight on Monday night football...many millions watched and it was good for the rest of the country (and world) to see that beautiful cities and beautiful people exist on the opposite corner of our State. I just wish that the Saints would have won...but, hey, it's only preseason and it's a learning time, not necessarily a winning time. GO SAINTS AND GO NEW ORLEANS HORNETS!!! :D

The great thing is, with this game... as a Dallas fan, of course I wanted Dallas to win... but as a closet Saints fan as well, had they ended up with the victory, I'd have been excited for them as well. In my opinion, NO team in the NFL needs a win as bad as the Saints do, and I hope the real season is nothing like this preseason.

And I, too, am very proud that Shreveport had this opportunity to shine. Even Blanco and Benson were here for the game and had a meeting in a Shreveport hotel about the future of the team with the state.
