Charlotte loses another HQ

A NY-based telecommunications company has acquired Charlotte-based US LEC for $1.3 B. Most current kobs will stay here, but the HQ is gone. Bummer.

UVEST also got purchased by a San Diego firm. Although the new ower plans to expand Charlotte operations by adding as many as 300 new jobs, we still lost another HQ.

UL Lec is in danger of being made obsolete by newer technologies. I guess it is good they got bought out by a larger company so they can remain in business here in Charlotte.
