Ford Field Parking.......

I'm coming over from Muskegon to Detroit in a few weeks for the Detroit Football classic. I was just wondering if any of you have tips on affordable parking within a reasonable distance from Ford Field. I just don't feel like paying the insane "across the street" prices. Any help would be appreciated! Looking forward to another great visit to Detroit (absolutely love it). I can taste Southern Fires restaurant already.

Park in the Greektown ramp. Then you can validate inside the Casino and it's free. The machines are on the first level within the Casino area back by the bar. It's easy and quick. I can't even remember the last time I ever paid for parking in the D, LOL. But anyway, you only have to walk a couple blocks to Ford Field. Additionally, it's far easier getting out of Detroit to the freeways from Greektown. I'm always hearing people's "after I left the ___ game in downtown Detroit I got stuck in traffic" story. So now you won't have to be one of those people, and you parked free

I always make a point to put $5 in a slot machine every time I park at Greektown. Most of the time I lose, but there was one time when I won $50.

Wow that's too bad. When I validated last time there, the machines were pushed away from the wall. Were they possibly broken? They do break from time to time. But yeah, hopefully they don't catch on.

But still, since Lions games are on Sunday's you could still park free at a metered spot. Seems like everyone has caught on to Washington Blvd which has been quite popular during the Tigers games, but sometimes I find 1 or two spaces.

I remember we parked right on Madison for a Sunday Tigers game. Granted that was a few years ago when you could have an entire section to yourself...

Good to know I'm not the only one who does that. Last time down though, the ramp I usually park in was gone!

Unfortunately my last time down, validation was working just fine - it's the whole staying and losing a few hundred dollars playing blackjack and roulette where the problem lies.
