Blame the DT GR's building code's parking requirements. Geting rid of that and getting mass transit in would make a world of difference. IMO

Actually, that does seem a bit ridiculous seeing as most movie-goers would go at night when the parking isn't needed for downtown office workers. It seems like they should be able to get by without any additional parking.

I just went to the new downtown theater in Kalamazoo (the Rave I believe???). If Grand Rapids had one downtown I think it would be just awesome...the theater in Kalamazoo was really cool with the added bonus of being close to all the other downtown attractions...so dinner and a movie??? Way better than suburbia and dinner at a McResturant.

Heard over the holidays that this project might be coming out of its coma. Might even include a large retail presence.

Wow, that is a surprise. Would be great to see some of the projects that have been shelved in recent months come back to life.
