I can't get over how high Lansing's forcible rapes rates are (though, many take issue with the word as all rapes are forcible many argue). It's something like nearly 14 percentage points higher than Detroit. I've never been able to figure out why it's so high.

I think by using the word forcible, they're trying to distinguish against statutory.

I didn't realize my small city of 30k was such a beacon for theft. I guess it shouldn't be a big surprise... my mother had a huge front yard turtle statue that weighed a ton... somehow it go stolen (hopefully whoever took it had back problems for a while)... not to mention the car my father got stolen five years ago :cry: (belonged to my grandfather before he died). This site says my city has low amounts of auto theft... I thought we had excessive amounts of it - maybe other sites put theft & auto theft as the same statistics?

On the brighter side: all other crime rates are down and there's been no murders in the past year. :thumbsup:
