Informal used car lots

Recommended Posts

What can be done about these used car lots that I see springing up everywhere? It seems anywhere there is an empty parking lot people start to park cars there with "for sale" signs on them. There's no real business or licensed car dealer. It's just individuals selling their worn out '91 Isuzu Rodeos and clapped out '87 Accords that have 300,000 miles on them. It doesn't seem like the city cares or does anything about this. These things are a blight on the landscape and in some cases, the cars are even parked over the sidewalk, making it impossible to pass.

These are technically illegal. There was one off Walnut in Rogers by the Scottsdale Center, and the Police Department got enough complaints that they closed it down. If you see any of these, I would just contact the Police Department about it.

I have done that in Fayetteville and they wouldn't do anything about it. I guess Rogers just cares more about these kinds of things than we seem to over here.....!

Hmmm...you'd think Fayetteville would make a bigger deal about this with all the ordinances and such we have.

There should be a public used-car lot for these kinds of things. That way there would be a lot of used cars in one place rather than sitting on lawns and sidewalks everywhere. They could also make use of the auto auction to sell their cars.

We need a full scale auto auction every week.
