Condo on site of Former French Quarter Restraunt (Las Olas area)

Anyone have any information on this? I walked by "Progressive Design & Development Consultant Inc Fort Lauderdale" just off Las Olas blvd, in their window was a rendering of a large, two tower high rise, (appeared to be blue in color) on the site where the now closed French Quarter restruant stands (as well as a few other structures.) The intersection would be SE 2nd St. an SE 8th Ave. 1 block South of The Venezia condo and 1 block North of Las Olas. East of Federal. Since the rendering was on the 2nd floor and I was on the ground floor I could not see much else. I also could not find a website for the company. Looked like a nice addition the neighborhood - anyone know anything?

For those interested, in the current issue of GO:Riverwalk magazine there is an article about the closing of French Quarter in which the owner is quoted as saying that while he is not at liberty to name the developer he did say the new structure could be a mixture of hotel, mid-rise office tower, multi-story parking garage and retail including a new French Quarter.

Another hotel in the area would be a benefit I think with The Riverside currently monopolizing the Las Olas hotel scence.

As many hotels rooms as there are in Fort Lauderdale, I agree with you that a few more rooms downtown couldn't hurt. The Riverside has got a virtual monopoly on the downtown market. I'll be very interested to see what they will plan for this spot.
