Acts of Remembrance - The Hope Project

Tape Art

Recommended Posts

We're a group of public artists from Providence, RI and been working on this project for the past five years, and have spent over 30,000 volunteer hours to complete it. Starting the week of September 11th, we drew temporary tape silohuettes of all the airline passengers and firemen who passed away at the World Trade Center. If you connect all 490 drawings together they form four hearts that span the entire island of Manhattan. We have done extensive documentation for each drawing, and created a webpage and video podcast for each one. If you go to tapeart.com/hope, then you can view the project in its entirety. We have provided maps and detailed descriptions of the locations for each drawing, and our hope is that people will view the project on an iPod or on their cell phone and walk the four heart-shaped paths.

We will be giving a presentation of the Hope Project at the SoHo Apple Store, 103 Prince Street, tonite from 6pm to 8pm.
