Recommended Posts

This is a snip-it of an article from he NBJ about the proposed< what I would call, a tech corridor. Maybe you guys can shed some more light on this too. What is proposed is a tech zones or tech parks much like Huntsville AL and Raleigh-Durham have.

Please pardon my ignorance, smeagolsfree, but what kinds of businesses would be located in a Tech Park? I mean, are we talking mainly things like bioTech labs and pharmaceutical research facilities and things of that nature?

I think it would be the full gambit of high tech industries. Yes Bio tech and Pharmaceutical along with software development, aerospace, information techs. It could be a wide spectrum of industries. These are also high paying jobs and would be a great addition to the economy of MD TN.

This is a great idea and can really play off the knowledge base from MTSU's aerospace program and the NASA site southeast of here at the Air Force Base in Tullahoma.

Lexy, do you know if the Arnold AF base is growing? We drove past there back in May on our way from Atlanta to Lawrenceburg and I noticed quite a bit of dirt turned. I couldn't tell if there were any new projects or not. However, it did appear that the highway was getting 4-laned.
