These are great flckr photos. While it appears most are of the Richmond region, there are pictures from all over -- Hampton, Norfolk, Chicago, Orlando and other places.

Thanks for posting, cal.

This one of the giant Kugel (clad in its summer attire?:)) in front of the Science Museum of Virginia (formerly Richmond's Union Station) is one of my favorites.

You're welcome Burt! The Richmond thread I posted here has 60 photos continously of Richmond. If you go to Sky Noir flickr account then their are many more photos of different areas other than Richmond.

The one with the old train sheds and rail lines behind the Science Musuem of Virginia is my favorite. It looks like anyday it could be converted back into a train station!

Ryan Ramsey is right up there among the top city photographers, IMO. He runs the website known as Richmond City Watch which, mysteriously, has been very quiet of late.

But he manage to produce monthly sets of Richmond pictures.

If you want a pictorial treat, take a look at:

http://richmondcityw...p?name=gallery2

There are 156 pictures in his Album RCW Update, July 2010. Click on the thumbnails to enlarge.

Ryan can do more to perplex your brain with a zoom lens than almost anyone. I bet a quarter you won't be able to identify from where many of the pix are taken.:tough: But you'll have a helluva good time trying. :camera:

Fed Reserve building is sort of a signature tower. Richmond could use one 40+ tower though.

The plot of land right between 8th&9th st (today a parking lot) right when you enter Downtown crossing the Manchester bridge is the perfect location!

 We tossed that rumor around for weeks in the thread titled "High Rise Rumored for Blocks SE13 & SE14." You can find it on the second page of this forum.

The discussion includes all sorts of speculation and even some suggested renderings. Although the rumor was based on actual plans for the site, the souring economy was a factor in its abandonment.

Here's a nice shot of East Broad Street in downtown Richmond from Richmond biz sense.

Prominent buildings clockwise from lower left are a section of The Greater Richmond Convention Center; The Richmond Marriott Hotel; City Hall with rooftop antenna; The new Fed Court House with its curved atrium, and Miller & Rhoads/Hilton Garden Inn.

Nice pic. Was this taken from the top of the CNB building?

I'd really love to find a way into that building (as safely and legally as possible)

Here is a nice set of photos by John Murden of the InLight event last Friday, October 22nd, 2010 in Shockoe Slip as well as the event of 2009 which was in Center City on Broad/Grace between 5th and 7th Streets.

You can linger over individual shots by clicking the strip at the bottom of the slideshows.

Cam, what a terrific photographic find this is. Checking them all out will fill my retirement hours.

Thanks to you and John Murden of CHPN and River District News.

I think this is a neat picture. It is 29th Street on Church Hill looking south toward the Confederate Soldiers and Sailors Monument on Libby Hill. The park is to the right in the photo and a row of handsome town houses is to the left.
