(Missoula, Mt) , (Amarillo, Tx), (Allentown, PA) are all small markets that have the international aiport name.

I don't think you guys are seeing that a plane to China wouldn't be profitable daily or even weekly. Air China operates with Boeing 777's (Around 300 Seats), Boeing 767 (250-400 seats) and Boeing 747 (Around 500 Seats) to International Destinations. 200-300 people don't fly weekly to China from Wal-Mart, in fact the number is usually not even 20. This would be an extremly unprofitable flight that would fold days after departure. Air China only operates in New York City, Los Angeles International, and San Francisco International Airports in the U.S. I do agree about another flight to Los Angeles, the American Airlines one is packed solid during the week, and a second one is bound to happen.

I personally don't see anything wrong with us not having an international airport as, like Matt said, there will never be enough passengers daily or even weekly to justify it. Besides, why would anyone wait for a daily flight to China (or wherever) when they can just get a layover in DFW, Chicago, or Memphis and save a few hours of waiting. I'm quite content with the amount of noise pollution from flights we already have without adding international flights. :D

Heck, Matt, the way things are going around here we may have an Air India flight to Bombay or Calcutta before we get anything to China. ;)

It's Official Now!!!!!!

The University of Arkansas has entered into an agreement to become a member of the World Trade Center Association. It's suppose to have a a trade specialist program and teachs some of the education of students and faculty in international trade through the Sam M. Walton College of Business.

The nonprofit Arkansas World Trade Center will initially be located on the fourth floor of the Pinnacle Building Center at the Shoppes at Pinnacle Hills in southwest Rogers.

Great to hear. I wasn't sure if anything would become official quite this soon.

Interesting story in today's paper about the King Fahd Middle Eastern studies center at U of A, and how the school plans to make it one of the best in the nation as recognized by the U. S. Department of State.

Fascinating place, this.

I'm hoping there's more info on this in the U of A topic. I think this is very interesting news as well. I believe there needs to be more focus on the Middle East and I would like to see more people study and learn about this part of the world. Seeing as how this could become an even bigger role in events in the future it's great to see the U of A getting in on this. I think it would be great to see this area becomming one of the main centers for this.

I hate to be negative here but I'm just having a hard time thinking that this building is going to be this tall. Even if they do lease out some space to other companies I have a hard time seeing them doing anything over 10 stories. I haven't come across any other metros our size that have such large WTC buildings in the 30-40 story range.

Where did the info of this building being 30 or 40 stories high come from ???

Well, this topic was hacked and the information about the 40-story WTC was deleted along with my " " reply! I don't remember who posted the "40-story" info but it was detailed to include several floors of retail and restaurants and 5 floors dedicated to UA, 20 floors of vendor space and a penthouse suite on the top floor. Evidentally someone didn't like that info.

Yeah that's where I saw it! Thanks Matt! I thought I was either losing my mind or there was a hacker present. The former being more likely. :D

The way the breakdown was explained to me was something like this.

4 stories World Trade Center

4 stories U of A

8 stories of Restaurants, Retail, Service, etc

20 stories of vendor offices

3 stories VIP offices

And the top story Penthouse for...?

Yeah JimBo said this came from a very good source of information on the subject. I hate to dispute him or his source but I just don't see how NWA ends up with one of the taller WTC towers outside the major cities like NYC. I had a hard time believing it back then but didn't really want to try to call him out on it. But after everyone started getting their hopes up and starting posting images of what it could look like I thought I should speak up before people got too excited about it.
