"Steve Ragsdale, general manager of the Westin Hotel that will anchor the Bridge Street project, described a chic shopping venue with a movie theater where patrons can sip cocktails. He told of the condos that will take up the top floors of the hotel, going for up to $410 a square foot."

Anyone know the grand opening date of this Westin (and Bridge Street)? I'd like to start staying at property when in Huntsville. I checked the Starwood website, but no date.

no official dates yet, but late 2007 for the retail portions, (the dry weather has really helped) and the Westin

late spring early summer 2008. It is an aggressive schedule in any case.

The opening date for the Westin is set for April 1, 2008, according to the Starwood Hotels and Resorts website.

The first Westin Hotel in Alabama opened on April 12th. The Westin Huntsville includes 210 guest rooms, 74 residential condominiums on the top six floors, a 7,972 sq ft ballroom and a 792 sq ft boardroom.

The developer of downtown Birmingham's entertainment district, The Forge, is trying to get a Westin hotel in his project.
