Hasbro children’s zoo set for 2012

Pawtucket-based Hasbro is contributing $500,000 to help build a children’s zoo at Roger Williams Park Zoo in Providence. Officials plan to announce on Tuesday the start of construction of the zoo, called “Hasbro’s Our Big Backyard,” which is scheduled to open in 2012.

Executive Director Jack Mulvena said the project is designed to give young children a chance to experience nature and gain a greater appreciation for wildlife in New England."
