One thing I worry about with Whitehouse is that he will just be another dem. pawn and that the democrats won't do anything for the State of RI with him there. He just seems a little wishy-washy to me, someone who isn't going to take a stand and fight for RIers.

NOW had an interesting report on the minimum wage a couple weeks ago. The economies and jobless rates of states that have raised the minimum wage above the federal rate are actually better than those states that stick with the federal rate.

Minimum Wages in 2005

(Selected Countries)

Country - Rate/hr.*

Belgium - $9.82

Canada - $5.13 - $6.95

France - $9.64

Ireland - $9.24

Japan - $5.77 - $6.76

The Netherlands - $9.48

Spain - $3.88

United Kingdom - $7.45 - $8.82

Imagine time before computers, how slow the day would be :unsure:

Some of us remember those times, when we walked to work uphill both ways in 8 feet of snow, with no shoes.

ok, so i had a last minute change of heart and voted whitehouse, but only after reading a bunch of the stuff on cnn.com this morning.

anyways, i didn't notice the signs for question 13 and 14. i did, however, have a guy holding a vote no on question 1 sign ask me if i was with them. so i made a point of looking at the guy who had the vote yes on question 1 sign and telling the other guy that i was voting no. i very tempted to ask the other guy how much harrah's was paying him to stand there.

oh yeah... i came home to a message from rudy guiliani asking me to go out and vote for carcieri... i wish i could've called him back and told him that i already voted for fogarty.

I heard that people are being paid $150 for the day to stand outside with the pro-casino signs. You wouldn't believe the whinos they had all over Atwells @ Eagle Square today. They look like they were picked up in Kennedy Plaza....oh well....after the voters reject it at least the liquor stores will be busy.
