In reference to the Hannah Montana concert.....

That was actually me who was talking about my daughter going. I sent my wife with her, I didn't want to go. It apparently did live up, my wife and daughter said it was a lot of fun. They did leave early because toward the end my daughter was falling asleep and my wife wanted to beat the traffic. My wife said it was truly sold out and it was a mad house. I think it was very cool that Bossier City hosted one of these concerts. My daughter got a t-shirt, and we were on a list of some seriously, major cities. I was proud. Also, yes we were the only city in Louisiana to get this event. My wife told me the other day that Reba McEntire and Kelly Clarkson are coming to CTC in February and we are only one of 15 stops! It may be me, but I think that is pretty cool.

Yep I saw that the Reba and Kelly Clarkson tour was added to Pollstar the other day and was extemely impressed. About Hannah Montana... that evening I had something to do after work so it was about 6:00-6:30pm before I left Shreveport headed toward Haughton. The interstate was a nightmare, much more than typical rush hour traffic. Typical rush hour traffic on I-20 downtown slows down considerably around 6:00 but this was just like 5:00 traffic. I called my wife to ask her what the hell was going on and she said "Hannah Montana is in town tonight." Then it hit me... all these crazy people were coming in from literally EVERYWHERE. I saw some photos on Flickr from someone who lives in New Orleans and had to come all the way up here just to see the concert. The exit ramps from I-20 that lead to the ART Parkway were insanely backed up onto the interstate... even that really long cloverleaf by the Horseshoe was backed up onto the Red River bridge of I-20. Insane...

So The Toadies are coming to the Riverside Warehouse nightclub on the Shreveport riverfront later this month. Anyone remember them from the 90s music scene? I remember falling in love with Possom Kingdom in The Toadies' hayday.

Anyway below is the list of major concerts coming to our region over the next 3-4 months. Some big names here, I'm so glad CenturyTel Center finally struck gold with the major tours... it seems almost every major tour plays here now. We had to endure many years where absolutely nothing was going on, but we made it through that it we have so much to choose from now it's insane. Metallica still hasn't been here since the 80s, but hopefully they'll make it back one of these days.

Major acts performing in the very near future at CenturyTel Center:

Fri 12/21/07 Trans-Siberian Orchestra

Thu 01/24/08 "The Harlem Globetrotters"

Sat 02/02/08 Reba McEntire & Kelly Clarkson

Sun 02/10/08 Bobby "Blue" Bland

Sat 02/16/08 Celtic Woman

Tue 02/19/08 Kid Rock & Reverend Run

Fri 02/29/08 Michael Buble

Sat 03/01/08 Three Days Grace & Breaking Benjamin

Sun 03/02/08 Keith Urban & Carrie Underwood

Sat 04/05/08 Casting Crowns, John Waller & Leeland

Wed 04/16/08 "Disney's High School Musical: The Ice Tour"

One thing I noticed in the above list, Blue Man Group has been removed. They were scheduled for April. Hopefully they will reschedule a date here, I missed them last time and MUST go see them again. (edit: meant to say, must go see them if they come back again!) :) They still have North Little Rock scheduled for April...

...and performing soon at other area venues:

Fri 01/11/08 Travis Tritt Horseshoe Casino

Fri 02/15/08 The Doobie Brothers Harrah's Louisiana Downs

Fri 04/04/08 B.B. King Horseshoe Casino

6-14 - George Jones (Diamond Jacks) <-- started out playing the Hayride

6-19 - Merle Haggard (Horseshoe) <-- started out playing the Hayride? I think....

6-20 - Merle Haggard (Harrah's Louisiana Downs)

7-4 - Al Green & Gladys Knight (Horseshoe)

7-4 - Randy Travis (Sam's Town)

7-5 - Cowboy Mouth (Horseshoe)

7-17 - Satisfaction, Rolling Stones tribute band (Horseshoe Rooftop Party) <-- they are based in Shreveport-Bossier

8-8 - Crosby, Stills & Nash (Horseshoe)

8-13 - James Blunt & Sheryl Crow (CenturyTel Center)

8-26 - American Idols Live tour (CenturyTel Center)

8-29 - Gretchen Wilson (Sam's Town)

8-31 - Trace Adkins (Horseshoe) <-- he is from here

9-5 - Peter Frampton (Horseshoe)

9-19 - 3 Doors Down, Finger Eleven, & Hinder (CenturyTel Center) <-- Hinder's career was launched in Shreveport

9-21 - Keith Anderson (Harrah's Louisiana Downs)

10-11 - Bucky Covington (Red River Revel)

11-2 - Percy Sledge (State Fair)

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to drop this event on the list.

On October 19th Jeff Dunham will be at the Centurytel Center.

My wife and i saw him a few years ago at the Funny Bone in Shreveport and he was hilarious.

The show this time will be a full house show and all the tickets are 41.50, anywhere in the arena.

Get your tickets now!

I recommend it highly.
