This must have Harris Teeter quaking in their boots. Publix is a very strong competitor and has been dying to get into this market. Harris Teeter competes well with Kroger but with Kroger's renovation and now a brand new Publix across the street get ready for a brawl. Advantage shoppers!!!

Harris Teeter will do just fine. They serve a certain market just as kroger and Publix do. If anything - this may cause a synergy of upscale food shopping.

Publix is exploding into the Nashville market. I do think Publix gives Kroger and Harris Teeter a run for their money. Three Publix stores are scheduled to open in Murfreesboro within the next two years.

I like the fact that they plan to improve the intersection and make the area more pedestrian friendly. This was greatly needed in that area, and I hope they accomplish what they set out to do. I can remember shopping in the old H. G Hill store there way back in the '50's when I was little boy. That was where we did all our grocery shopping. It will be so strange to see the building gone.
