With over 40 different projects either already under construction or proposed and in process, the skyline of dtown Raleigh will certainly look much different in the years ahead. Exciting times for the capital city for sure!

Image already outdated. The parking lot and middle parking deck structure south of the Wake County Justice Center recently submitted a rezoning request for up to 40 stories.  123 and 113 West Davie Street; 417 South McDowell Street, and 416 S. Salisbury Street

I think it is very noteworthy they are talking about a tower with apartments and for sale condos that is needed.  They do a lot of work in Miami and NYC and this is common place there.

I'm hoping that they build one of those skinny towers that have gone up in NYC recently. With les than one acre they have to go up and be creative.

I'm also hearing that there are plans to build a 100 story tower in Miami. Most likely the tallest in the entire South.

A 100-story tower in Miami would have gorgeous views if you're willing to deal with some scares between August and October lol. I wonder when buildings in Raleigh will break that 700-800 foot mark and really start pushing the skyline upwards

It will be the tallest residential building south of New York City and called the Waldorf Astoria Residences Miami.

^^^   and here is the what the restored Seaboard Station will look like

""After agreeing to save the train station and receiving rezoning approval for 707 Semart Drive, developer Turnbridge Equities of New York moved quickly to file site plans with the city. The development will be two towers with the train station being relocated to the northern part of the property.

Site plans show the residential portion will have 680 total units with a mix of studios and one-, two- and three-bedroom units. There will be 26,641 square feet of amenities, 11,826 square feet of retail space and a 270,700-square-foot parking garage.  The 16-story tower will have 5,918 square feet of retail space, a fitness space and bike storage all on ground-level with residential units above. The 20-story tower will include a screened parking garage lined with residences, 3,350 square feet of retail with residences above and three 922-square-foot townhomes with direct street access.""

I wonder do the plans call for them to relocate the old train station building or leave it intact?
