Does anyone know where Obetz is? It sounds like it might be Ohio. Anything good for the region is great news, but if this is in Ohio it won't excite me half as much :P

I don't know where it is but that is odd it does say Ohio... why would this even be reported in the Pittsburgh Business Times then?

Ahh yeah. Dell moves jobs from state to state in search of huge incentives from the states. There is general outrage in North Carolina at a facility they built near Winston-Salem because of the sums the state paid to Dell to get them to do so.

I would hope that any deal like this gets thorough scrutiney by the officials that will make the decision to spend public money on it.

Obetz is a suburb of Columbus, Ohio. The only Pittsburgh connection with this is some logistics provider based in Pittsburgh plans to do the hiring. I have no idea why this was reported in the Pittsburgh Biz Journal (especially with the misleading title) and Pop City.

That article is strangely misleading. It says Dell is bringing the jobs, but it's actually a logistics company named Genco, that does work for Dell. I wonder if this Genco is dangling the Dell name to get bigger tax breaks, as monsoon suggested?

Misleading indeed. When I saw it mentioned Ohio, I assumed it meant the part of Ohio close to the PA border, and thus not too far from Pittsburgh. But obviously that is not so.
