we looked at having our wedding here. while it's a great location, the hotel really seemed to need some work in my opinion. it was also way too expensive for our guests at about $300+ per night and their room block discount wasn't much (10% i think).

My parents stayed there once for a quick weekend getaway and they really liked it. Now, they stayed there in February so it was dirt cheap then.

it's really nice, but when i was there some of it felt sort of cheesy. i don't know... there was just something about it. it could be a really nice resort and has tons of potential. the rooms were really nice... the ballroom left something to be desired in my opinion. and newport room rates in teh summer are ridiculous.

I stayed there years ago when it was the Sheraton Islander. It needed tons of work then. I hope it has been improved. Not much more than a fancy motel.
