Moody experiences strong growth in homes, business

Moody seems to embarking on a major growth spurt with the recent announcement of the moving the Red Diamond headquarters from Birmingham to there. Also the municipality seems to be ranked as one of the fastest growing in the state here are some figures of growth over last few years:

2006: 10,764

2000: 8,050.

1990: 4,921.

1980: 1,840

I don't dispute the numbers on the population increase, however the city is going to become a largely residential community due to the fact that they dorked up retail opportunites over the past 15 years or so and that retail growth has skipped right over them and on to Pell City.
