Cam "Circle at Piedmont" has shown little progress for a long time now, didn't think grading took 8+ months, so decided to look this one up but can't find info, I suspect it may be because there are at least 3 names for the project: "Circle South Park", "Crescent South Park" and "Circle at Piedmont" as listed here.  Which is it actually?

to update you Nowensone, Circle at Piedmont is no more. It will be now known as Crescent South Park. http://www.facebook.com/CircleSouthPark?notif_t=page_name_change

^ Riding the Blue Line from Scaleybark to New Bern really feels dense now.  Those apartments really encroach on the rail and give it a special feel.  I'd argue it'll seem denser than any area outside of uptown, considering Camden parallels the line for much of South End, reducing that "encroaching" feel.

How is this extension going to work? Isn't Junction and Spectrum in the way?

Only wish Iverson Extension were under construction at the same time. The grid between Remount and Tremont is much more sparse than Remount to New Bern.

This a link to greenhawk that explains the inverson connection.   Unfortunately the link to the site plan is lost.

I understand the original plan, I'm just saying I don't think its possible any more. I don't think there is room between Spectrum and Junction anymore.

It's off topic, but I think i'd be fine with a partial Iverson extension serving and separating Publix and Camden Apts, but dead-ending before the LRT, BUT a pedestrian bridge over the LRT that connects to a path between the Spectrum Apts and Junction 1504 on Hawkins.  This would allow all the people on the west side of LRT in those apartments to still easily walk/bike to Publix, but eliminate an at-grade crossing that CATS is against (and there is probably no-longer any room for).

^In other words, a cul-de-sac.  Of course, that is the plan for Publix and Camden, because connectivity to the Lowe's traffic signal is dire for them, but forget connectivity through the site and across the tracks to other, nearby apartments.

Someday, when all these vast apartments age, those disconnected from South Boulevard and on the "other side of the tracks" may not fetch such strong rents anymore.  But I guess Junction 1504 knew that when they went with garden flats and surface parking.
