my question is....the front part( Main Entrance).....is that going to be facing the river front or the interstate...it would look good either way...but if it was to face the interstate that would really make that area look like something comming from from the 10/12 split once u cross the lakes...but it look to me like the parking garage is the part facing the interstate(hope not)

II City Plaza is looking great and they are building at a much faster pace than I expected.

I am curious why they chose to build the parking garage right up to the corner of 5th and North Blvd. I would have rather seen them utilize the first floor or two at this highly visible corner as retail space. Besides being more attractive, it would have encouraged more pedestrian activity beyond 4th Street as it now exist.

That parking garage at II city plaza is all pre-fab concrete. Those things come together really fast....it's really better to do it that way than site built now because they have gotten so good. The Foundation is the most time-consuming part. Once they are out of the dirt the parking garage moves very, very fast.

II City plaza....how tall is it supposed to be. Is it the 12 stories are did they go with the 14? I am trying to picture something about twice as tall as City Plaza I.

Yeah I always try and envision something twice the size as City Plaza. It's definitely going look alot different in that area with something that massive. We'll be able to tell ppl, "I remember when that wasn't there." :shades:

Was downtown today, II City Plaza is coming up nicely. It's getting some height to it. I also finally noticed the casino parking garage. You know now seeing exactly where that is going to be I really hope they do something nice with it, I mean it's basically one of the first things you will see coming over the bridge.

Richy, you took some great pics of the new courthouse and two city plaza. two city plaza sure is coming along nicely, but, it just looks short for some reason. I quickly photo shopped Richy's picture to make it 12 stories, but it just doesn't look as tall as i was expecting. What do ya ll think?

^Thanks, I appreciate it. Wow, nice work there buckett. I think they'll add some to the 12th floor with the way the roof(ing) looks elevated + the spire. The rendering looks tricky with it' looking like 13 floors. But the floors do seem a little short. I only wish the office tower had been built above the parking garage.

I guess on the positive side the original plan for the new Courthouse was only 9 stories; but will now be 12 floors instead. At 201'ft. tall I think it will be taller than II City Plaza. The civic building will run at 16 feet per floor +elevated roofing and flag-pole.

I know both will look great lit-up at night! Can't wait for that.

It's a density build... It's filling up a parking lot, which is welcome. The fact that it looks good is a plus.

Not sure if this was previously mentioned??

By looking at this rendering, my best guess at what looks to be possibly a 13th floor could be the mechanical floor?? The actual tallest office floor would be on the 12th. Riding by today they have already started work on the 10th floor.

Thanks for the updated construction pic southeast BR. Looking good. I have been impressed how fast II City Plaza has gone up since it started! Eventhough it won't be the tallest building; every little bit helps the BR skyline.

This is going to be a nice addition downtown.

Height isn't everything. Washington DC rocks and there isn't much there over 18 stories and nothing is supposed to be higher than the top of the capitol building.

DC is a great looking town, too.

After the concrete company tops of this building, you might see the tower crane go away.....it depends on what they use to hoist up the windows and facade panels. It's marble, so it has to be up in large sections...and it's heavy so the tower crane might stay for a little while. I see them framing up the curtian walls on floors 1 and 2 already.

This building isn't very tall, but if it looks like CPI, then it will be a higher quality. It appears that it's going to be much more attractive than the Chase buildings.

^Great view from the Chase parking garage LT :shades: A nice addition to the southern CBD for sure. From that angle the building will be as horizontal as it is vertical. This is going to look great once complete; esp. at night!

I just happen to take several pics of II City Plaza; so I guess I'll post a few.

Taken from Third at Convention the narrow side gives it a more vertical apperance. I was curious to see what would become of the mystery 13th floor; I'm guessing the mechanical floor??

From North Blvd. at Third Street w/ barrels from new courthouse site; no pics for that; the 6th floor roof-top at Shaw Center was closed.
