Economic Funk won't end in 2006 -- Detroit News Online--ties to Auto industry are blamed and tax restructuring is needed

Michigan - Economy Explains how auto industry affects the state's economy and point out that diversification is needed to grow the economy

Civic Leaders address how to repair ailing Michigan Economy--diverisfication into knowledge based jobs, tax restructuring needed, improvments to education and access to it. It's pretty much what Granhom has been preaching during the debates.

Wikipedia--Michigan The "Economy" section of this Wikipedia entry indicates that the positives that Michigan does have is in the diversity that does exists in the state among other things. What is interesting though is it paints a rosier picture of Michigan's tax structure than what Granholm and esp. Devos is indicating.

I guess I am, come to think of it. Someone has to stand up to these guys. I think women have become way too complacent over the years and take the Roe v. Wade decision for granted. It's being chipped away bit by bit. Pretty soon we'll regress to back alley and do-it-yourself abortions. Who wants that? We've fought too hard to get away from those times.

And what about the Promisekeepers? Another huge religious-based men's movement (read: to put women in their place).

IMO.

I have been to 5 Promise Keeper's events and that is rediculous.

At the 1st PK event in Detroit a feminist group actually had a plane flying over the Silverdome with a banner saying Christian men want to control women. PK is a Bible-based men's ministry and the Bible does say, "Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord." That verse, however, defines how a wife is to relate to her husband and PK isn't about wives.

The Bible then says directly to men, "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her". A Christian husband is to cherish his wife and love her with a love so deep that he is willing to die for her. "Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance"

That is what PK teaches to men. What woman wouldn't appreciate such a man?
