In a nutshell, what I love and hate about this city. Some great looking buildings, some great neighborhoods -- but it's an absolute travesty how trashy and desolate so many of Atlanta's Midtown streetscapes are.

I live in Midtown and these are the first pictures I've seen that accurately portray the city. It's not all glamorous like all these far off skyline shots will have you believe. There's a ton of surface lots, horrendous sidewalks, and broken down, underused, or abandoned buildings. I pass many of these sites every single day and this is exactly as it looks. Dont believe the hype everyone.

i like this one in particular...there used to be a club called the Riviera on this block i saw a lot of concerts at from 2000-2002. i miss that place, great sound system. i remember those stairs, and another set on the next block.

Nick it's one of things that stand out in this thread...why is Midtown so trashy looking? I had a friend who went to Atlanta during Thanksgiving weekend and said the city looked filthy & went to a club were homeless people where everywhere panhandling him in midtown I believe. I really don't know how developers build in such place and not improving sidewalks and streetscapes.
