Vice-President Cheney confirms U.S. use of torture

Every time I hear something about the terrorists supporting one party over another I cringe. And for a number of reasons the worst of which is that some Americans must believe that. I hate to use the word, but stupid is the only one warranted. Who cares who the terrorists do or don't support? One could argue both sides of the fence:

They want Democrats because (according to Republicans) they will have our military cut-and-run leaving their lands to them and allowing them to regroup. This depends on voters not realizing that Congress is not in control of the military, our dear commander-in-chief is and is the only one that could make that happen quickly. It would take years of Congress fighting to make it happen, so moot point.

They want Republicans to win because it has never been easier to sway the opinion of the average middle eastener against that US than it is today. They see our troops everywhere, they see and hear our bombs, they attend funerals for loved ones we have killed or thugs have killed since we can't secure their countries. We are their best recruiting tool right now, so why again would they want Dems to win?

These terrorists are no threat to invading the US, they can only commit acts of terror. They will never load up on planes and boats and attack the US conventionally, therefore providing the training and fighting grounds right in their own lands is their best and really only chance to shoot at a real US soldier. We have provided exactly what they need to rally their troops.

Go us!! But remember, they want the Democrats to win.

The most proper term to describe the people who continue to allow for this current status quo of the national government is idiot.

Here is an article written by Dr. Gerald W. Johnson, a political science professor at Auburn University, that appeared in the Sunday edition of the Birmingham News that discusses why this is true (although some of this applies to only Alabama, but some of this is for everybody):

We need more idiots to act like citizens

U.S. seeks silence from CIA prisoners: report

Sat Nov 4, 8:44 AM ET

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Bush administration is arguing that detainees held in secret CIA prisons shouldn't be allowed to describe in court how they were interrogated, the Washington Post reported in its Saturday edition.

The government believes that interrogation methods used by the CIA are among the nation's most sensitive national security secrets, and that their release "could reasonably be expected to cause extremely grave damage," the Post said, citing recent court filings.

Terrorists could incorporate the information into their counter-interrogation training, the government told Judge Reggie Walton.

The government is trying to block access to 14 detainees transferred in September from the secret prisons to the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
