Ive never really been in any tall buildings. I guess the tallest was some hotel i stayed in a few years ago, maybe 15 stories. Hopefully next summer i will head to the top of Detroit's Ren Cen, and any other building in Detroit that they will let me.

I climbed DOWN the Empire State Building once. I was at a party on the 73rd Floor for the 4th of July fireworks. There were parties all over the building, so after fireworks time, the elevators were crammed. The fastest way down was just to walk down the stairs.

If anyone is curious to see what the stairwells in the ESB look like, here ya go:

Here's a few towers I've been up in

DETROIT

General Motors Renaissance Center - 73 Floors

Book Tower - 40 (sat out on fire escape lol)

CHICAGO

Sears Tower - Observation deck

John Hancock Center - Observation deck

Carbide and Carbon tower - 37th floor (Best view of Chicago PERIOD...trust me on this one)

NEW YORK

World Trade Center - observation deck

Empire State Building - observation deck

MINNEAPOLIS

Foshay Tower- observation deck

CINCINNATI

Carew Tower Observation deck

TORONTO

CN Tower

It seems great to go up in all these tall towers, but to tell you the truth, the most rewarding views occur between floors 25-40 in the bigger cities. That's because you aren't staring down on air conditioning units, and you really get to see the detailed architectural features on the roof lines up close. It helps having a lot of friends who live and work in highrise buildings so you can get the more unusual angles of the city.

Hmm...the tallest things I've ever climbed are lighthouses (the tallest being the one at Cape Hatteras).

If taking an elevator to the top of a building counts, then I've been to the top of the Sears Tower and the Hancock Center in Chicago and the Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel in Atlanta.
