Shreveport-Bossier alternative media

8 posts in this topic

I thought this would be a good place to discuss news blogs in the Shreveport-Bossier area. The latest one I just discovered is Link 222

And here are a few more:

in Shreveport

Shreveport Blog

Shreveport Faces

Louisiana Movies Blog

Swampland

It's All Politics

Dan Wildfong's Captain's Blog (Mudbugs Hockey)

Sports Free For All

Bayou Bengals Blog

Blanc et Noir Marching Society (Mardi Gras Upstate)

Tipitina's Music Co-Op, Shreveport

If you know of any other good local blog sites, please feel free to add them! As it turns out, there are tons of them.

Red River Blog Jam - a very clever play on the "Red River log jam" that Capt. Henry Miller Shreve cleared to make the Red River navigable.

This is a blog that I've only recently discovered, but I've been enjoying the topics. The blogger is a former local radio personality and she's doing a fine job with her blog!

And here's yet another Shreveport-Bossier blog:

MarshallFannin, obviously taking its name from two downtown Shreveport streets: Marshall and Fannin.

I just checked that one out. The writing isn't bad, but it has a pretty pessimistic view of Shreveport.
