After 30 years

After reading the Minneapolis topic I thought it could be fun to see how cities have grown over 30 years. Here is what Tampa has been up to:

Downt Town Tampa 1977: (from the Tampa city Clerk image file)

Down Town Tampa 1999: (from the Tampa City Clerk image file)

Since/not included in the photo is 2 hotel towers (Marriotte and Embassy suites). There are also now 3 towers (condos and mix all over 30 stories if I remember correctly) under construction and to be completed within 2 years or less. In addition there are 2 other towers (both over 30 stories) that have started construction but are not off the ground, and several more projects that are approved but not started yet.

That's a cool pic of Detroit in 2006, the skyline is almost like a huge triangle with the tallest buildings in the middle and then tapering down on each side.

New Orleans definately had the most change. Any pictures now? I think Tampa has done the best work overall with improving its skyline.
