According to the agenda for the February 8th meeting of the Springfield Planning & Zoning Commission, a 42,000 sf Ashley Furniture Home Store is planned for 3.9 acres on Independence. The location is in the area east of Thompson Pontiac-Cadillac and near Hank's Fine Furnishings, Slumberland, and La-Z-Boy.

I dont know much about that Pet stores, I used to have pets long time when I was teenager. I didnt know that there another store at Joplin.

It could be a MCSPORTS but I think theirs a location across the street from the Mall,Sports Authoirty.

Theirs no Dick's in Columbia or Joplin,MO either yet.

But Bass Pro doesn't sell Exercise Stuff,Basketball Goals and other Stuff that those kind of stores do.

Check out the News-Leader today for an article about the demolition of James River Grill. The former owner blamed roadway access as the primary reason the restaurant went out. I think that if the food is good enough, people will come.

Anyway, some shopping mall/strip center is being permitted for the site. The article never said who the tenants would be, but I figured it would be safe to stick this topic in this thread. There will be some sort of retail on the site eventually.

I found out there's new developments on new Republic Road arcoss South from YCMA.

It's calls Raventree Place developed by Pellham Realtors. Office and Retails Mixed I assuming.
