GE Shareowners Meeting in Greenville

Thought this topic may have gotten some discussion seeing how it's pretty major economic news, but don't see it in any of the threads. General Electric will hold it's 2007 Shareowners / Board of Directors meeting in Greenville in April 2007. GE picks a different city each year where it has a major operation. The last time it was in Greenville was the early 90's before Greenville experienced it's renaissance and transformation to the thriving place we know and love today. This is the nations 7th largest company and the board of directors is a who's who from other national companies. Most of the board will stay at the Westin downtown. As 1,000 plus shareowners are expected, I'm sure all downtown hotels will be busy. Greenville, this is really your chance to shine!!! Go Greenville!!!!

This really is great news! I wish the Peacock was already built for this event, but we all know there will be more to come.

This really is a big deal and I can't wait for poeple to get to see our beautiful city.

We have jobs going at riverplace, mcbee station and the peacock so that should give them a good idea of what kind of growth is going on here, not to mention icar, hubble, and some others.
