Those pics were taken in the city's Christopher Columbus Square. The first one is from the Cathedral looking towards the City Hall. The second one I think is McKinley St. The third one is Mayaguez' Cathedral. The fourth one is McKinley St. looking towards Christopher Columbus Square ( Plaza de Cristobal Colon). The fifth pic was taken from the City Hall looking towards the Cathedral and the last one you already know. I posted a pic of Mayaguez Skyline in "San Juan skyline from a distance" but you need to log in so you can click the pic and see it larger. I still dont know how to post big pics so sorry for the incovenience. I will try to take some pics of Mayaguez since I live here I think I must do that because there's hardly any pics of the city in the internet.

I did notice that all the pics that you posted in that thread were the thumbnail sized pics but you can post the regular sized pic from imageshack. Once you upload a photo and click "host it" it takes you to a page with a whole bunch of things with url links like "Thumbnail for Websites", "Thumbnail for forums", etc well scroll down to the very last one that says "Direct link to image" and copy and paste that url and that will be the one that you use to show here and it will show the larger/original sized pic. :) Hope that helps cause i'd love to see your pics.

True, but that also depends from what angle u r taking the pic of the city. About the tornado hahaha yes it was the topic of the month. All the channels in PR passed the images and even a video of it. Also the images appeared in Univision's Primer Impacto.

Awesome man, great job. Sorry, i haven't been around much lately, work and school have been consuming my brain and energy. Hopefully, things will mellow out in a few weeks so i can start posting more stuff again.

BTW were you the one that took some of those pics of Mayaguez with the dates on it?

Also, do you know of any place that has a project list of developments in this city like the one for San Juan?

I know about, Altobello (17-story building), a few projects going on in downtown in Bosque Street like Plaza Venecia and others, a few new urbanizations in construction or recently completed like Villas de Sonsire, Paraiso de Mayaguez and Los Versalles just to name a few. A new condo (walk-ups) development near the port area and a small strip mall called West End Plaza and all the usual stuff like new offices spaces, etc etc.

Besides Altobello there's no big projects for now but there are gonna be soon because for example there's a cruise ship that will dock this December and there are three more coming in January. The municipal government plans to redevelop the port area, so there's gonna be new office, commercial and residential areas near the port plus a new hotel. Besides I heard that the Mayaguez Resort and Casino (fomerly Mayaguez Hilton) is undergoing an expansion, plus the construction of a new stadium for the Central American and Caribbean Games and all the new sports facilities needed for the games, the Villa Centroamericana (residential area for athletes to be constructed near the Holiday Inn and Western Plaza Shopping Center) and a new waterfront park near the stadium that will be aprox. 1.8-mile long. But all that in gonna be in a near future at least it has to be all done before 2010 since that's the year Mayaguez will host the games. Also UPRM is planning to expand the campus infrastructure... new buildings, new dorms, a museum and more. Without mentioning the campus is already going through that expansion by adding the recently inaugurated Business Administration and Biology buildings and having started the construction of the museum and a new labs building for the College of Agriculture.

Yeah tell me about it. When I was a freshman I used to live in downtown near UPRM. I lived there during two years and besides losing power when tropical storm Jeanne came I just remember one day with no power, but now that I live in Miradero I have been without power like 8 times and counting in just six months. Its incredible.

Wow those pics were taken a couple of days ago ( I think last weekend). The first four pics are from the stores around the city's square (Plaza Colon/ Columbus Plaza) The 8th pic is the Yaguez Theater (is undergoing a major restauration) the ninth pic is the symbol of the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus (UPRM), its called the "Portico" and is a replica of the entrance of the campus first building dating back to 1911. The building was destroyed by the 1918 earthquake. The other pic is the city hall and the last one is Post street and I agree with Rican, those cable are no longer there. :)
