LaGrange

LaGrange is really growing a lot. I've recently seen the Mill Creek Station construction and the area where Starbucks, The Home Depot, Moe's, and the Verizon Wireless store are at.

Do you have any pictures of these developments?

I think Publix is coming to Mill Creek Station. Should be announced soon.

Another 600 jobs for Troup County. Glovis Georgia, a subsidiary of Korea-based Glovis, will be a logistics provider for Kia. That brings the total number of jobs at Kia and its suppliers to 5,700 expected over the next couple of years.

AJC article

BTW why is this in the Columbus section. I know its close by but Lagrange is likely to grow into a seperate and independent MSA with this huge amount of job growth.

It's in the Columbus section because of the triangle of growth between Troup and Lee Co. AL and the growth between Columbus and Lee. GA Tech has noted the relationship in recent research. The area is coming the be called the COLA Region. A nod to its history in the development of Coca Cola and an acronym for Columbus-Opelika-Lagrange-Auburn.

A $1.7 billion residential/commercial project is amazing! It sounds like a bigger version of The Grove that is going in right north of Columbus. This is super impressive.

LDN article here. When housing comes back, this area will be ready to boom. It has the planned development and the jobs to support them.
