Can anyone with a subscription give details? This looks like an exciting announcement, but how exciting? I'm sure Richard Lawson will post this when he can, but I am itching to know what store this is.

It's MadMod, in the Berger building on 8th Avenue North, across from the Standard. They have another store on Belmont Blvd.

There's a coffee house in the works for part of that building as well.

This may be a neat little strip of roadway in downtown.

Josh Smith who bought the Savage house bought that building as well and as far as I know he has it almost 100% leased. Josh has been to a few of our meetings and we met at the Savage House several months ago. The building was not included in the demolition for the Federal Courthouse, if it is ever built. They are going to have lofts apartments upstairs as well.

The Tennessean has an article today on Mad Mod--it is now open. It feels like the downtown retail market is slowly inhaling deeply--soon it will be exhaling with an explosion of new stores (hopefully).

Does anyone know if the new American Apparel store opened yet? I thought it was supposed to open in September but their website still says Coming Soon in Fall of 2006.
