haven't had stella, but i've heard it's a joke for a belgian beer (like the bud of belgian beers). bud out of a keg is only slightly better than bud out of a bottle (i tend not to drink beer out of cans).

pabst is 100x better than bud.

i need to get myself some harpoon winter warmer.

The problem with Stella is that it is a Lager not an ale and thereby shouldn't even be advertised as Belgian. I mean, it is made in Belgium but it isn't a typically Belgian beer. Belgium is famous for it's ales, which typically have a lighter taste, slightly more carbonation, and a hint of fruit. Leffe is probably most popular proper Belgian ale imported to the US. However, Stella is fine as a lager. It gets low marks from the beer hipster community, but I'll keep my diatribe about the beer hipster community to myself.

Regardless, if you appreciate the taste of a Bud or Stella, then I would highly recommend that you buy yourself a six pack of Czechvar lager (or Budvar if you are actually in the Czech Republic, Anheuser-Busch would not allow them the use of that name here) and try that.

Newport sucked. nothing was open and it was cold. we went to wickford instead, spent a pile of cash, ate lunch and the sun came out.

interestingly, Ocean State Chocolates, who left Atwells Avenue months ago to open a store in Wickford was still "coming soon." Dudes, if you're not open for the Chritmas season, don't. even. bother.
