Storefront offered to GRPD

The Press is reporting that CEO of Dwelling Place Inc. is offering a police storefront at South Division Ave. and Goodrich St. for just one dollar a year. The storefront is being offered to The GRPD to establish a presence where there was much drug activity. This operation would be staffed by the Heartside community policing officer.

If this move will help make that area that much safer than that's good. The more oportunities the police have to put pressure on criminal thugs then the harder it is to commit and get away with a crime.

I think that it is a great step forward, but the residents will need to take a bigger step forward to stop this. A group active residents with a purpose can be much more effective than a satellite police station.

I hope that the residents use this as a spring board to create a neighborhood action group to create a real residential presents in GR.
