Oh, I thought this was about who would win in a fight between the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Minnesota Vikings.

Please explain why you think either was vile. Opened topics such as this either die or end up going all over the place so it would be helpful if you can provide some more basis for what you want to accomplish with this thread.

We generally dislike "worst of" or "best of" threads here that are one or two sentences long. In this particular case however you are condemning, an entire society and a very important one to western civilization at that, as being vile. By any yard stick that you might choose to apply to the Vikings the case can be made the English, Spanish, French, etc were far far worse. Likewise the pirates were not quite as black and white as the media likes to make them out to be. They were created afterall by the crown in England. Both are worthy of discussion but not in terms that you started with.

In any case, that is why I would have hoped you would have provided something more substantial in what you posted.
