Because it turned out so cheap looking from cost-cutting that the city pressured BU and the developer to make changes. It's sad because there was high hopes for this building and they tore down quite a bit of retail space to build it. :(

Edit- I also have some serious reservations about the design for the new T station. It will certainly be better than what was there but it's IMO too modern and will look dated in 15 years.

I tihnk the biggest news for Kenmore is the Rapport proposal, which is moving slowly due to height (29) stories, and the red sox aversion to high rise residential with a view of the field. That project would really help transform Kenmore.
