Art Space

ArtSpace Hartford opened years ago at 555 Asylum and has been doing well ever since. It brought some character to the city that was lacking (except for the Colt Building Studios). How come it stopped there though? Imagine if someone snapped up a few of the buildings in the city, say in the area of Ann/High/Main St's and refurb'd them into ArtSpace. Many of those buildings are either boarded up, partially boarded up, or in states of disrepair. This could totally revitalize that area, get some new blood flowing, spur some stores in there, and help bridge the area between the North End and Downtown (and maybe get people to fill those lots!!!) Discuss.

ArtSpace is a great project that many people do not think about because it was comleted before all of the new redevelopment (Adriaens Landing, Hartford 21, Sage Allen, etc) started. The concept is great, the location and the building are all awesome
