Renovation of Norfolk Community Hospital:

Norfolk State University took possession of this facility and the surrounding land (11.2 acres total) from the City of Norfolk in August 2004. The main structure consists of 135,000 square feet of space in need of major renovations to bring it up to safety code requirements and repair and modernize the current facility. The space will be redesigned to accommodate several academic programs, consolidate student services and provide administrative offices for staff and faculty. The University

The Richmond Spiders thought they had little to fear from Norfolk State, which was picked to finish ninth in the MEAC.

They thought wrong.

Just four days after surprising nationally-ranked Memphis with a close game, Richmond (1-2) was itself surprised in a 72-69 loss to Norfolk State (1-0) at the Robins Center last night.
