Correct pronunciation of "Wege"

10 posts in this topic

I know I'll get the answer I am looking for here....

Is it pronounced:

Weggy - Like "Peggy"

Wedge

Wedgie

Weegee - Like "BeeGee"

Weedge

Or some other variation? Thanks.

I've always pronounced it Weggy - like Peggy. I learned from my Aquinas Alum friends (their Student Center is "the Wege Student Center") - they all said it like "Weggy."

I've only ever heard the word "wege" in reference to Norwegians, so that's where I got it. It could have several different meanings, and thus several different pronunciations.

I know a Margaret Vande Wege.

Yep, you guessed right.

They call her Peggy Vande Wege.

And, yes, it rhymes.
