I know that WIMAX has a bigger pipline than stantard Wi-Fi. But would WIMAX have enough bandwidth to handle digital TV signals esp. HDTV alongside hi-speed internet sevice and maybe telephony all at once? Fiber-to-home services would have more than enough bandwidth to pipe hi-def TV signals without bogging up and still be able to handle hi-speed internet and telephone services.

Fiber to the home isn't even necessary any longer with Wimax coming to market. Rural areas will eventually be served by Wimax. Muskegon county is currently building out a county-wide Wimax system.

The "last mile" issues can be and are being dealt with using Microwave Radio-like equipment.

EDIT: I'd like to see the FCC open up the TV market to the phone companies.
