Upscale sports bar/restaurant slated for 722/724 South Main Street in the West End. This is currently a vacant building. Live music from featured bands will be included. Dueling pianos that play against each other would also be featured. The owners are going after the High Cotton/Rick Erwin type of crowd that age 25-55 years of age. shades.gif

Dueling pianos can be fun if they have great drinks like Pat O'Briens. Could make a fun afternoon/evening.

This does look nice, indeed. I hope they go non-smoking. That would definitely add to the upscale aspect of a sports bar/live entertainment venue.

For future reference:

They just took a photo of PJ Clarke's in Manhattan (the 55th Street one) and photoshopped it onto the Greenville building. EDITED TO ADD: Even the "Clarke's" name is still on the window and on the post at the edge of the building.

Now you know where the developer/owner got the design ideas from. wink.gif Easier to just copy somebody else than to hire an architect I guess. laugh.gif The exterior of the building is slated to look pretty much like what you see in the rendering except for the restaurant's name. thumbsup.gif

In addition to the newly opened Saffron's at the children's museum (which has outdoor seating along Academy by the way) and the Saffron's catering area in West End Market, Saffron's will also soon be fronting Augusta St. in West End by The Warehouse Theater. This location will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner AND they are doing a large outdoor patio to the side. Should be a great new breakfast place.

I'm excited about the proposed bar in the West End! It's great to see a couple of the last few storefronts be renovated and occupied! Not to mention that this particular stretch could use an injection like this! Once this project gets coupled with the completion of the Custom House a block away, this stretch is going to "feel" a lot better. It'll be an intangible aspect that will not only encourage people to keep walking in either direction, but it will also assist with the further development of the last few open lots in the area...

Also, it's great to see Saffron's opening up on an important street with some presence! Augusta will be a great fit for them, I think. And, an actual breakfast option SEEMS to be an untapped market for downtown (besides coffee shops). As always, it's great to see another West End renovation, but more importantly it's great to see Augusta Street's offerings be expanded..

Don't forget about Mary Beth's at McBee Station. Great breakfast place!
