What About High-Speed Trains for the US?

One of the things I hate about flying, especially through Chicago, is that if you are connecting from an international flight to a domestic flight, you have to go through security again which makes trying to connect a huge hassle.

I really hate flying, and if I had the option of taking the train, I'd do it.

One of the problems with our Mass Transit System in the United States is its inability to interconnect with other regional and metro systems. A more cohesive plan is needed and Amtrak isn't the answer. We need more rider-ship, lower costs and greater economies of scale, which must be based on reality, not pet project politics.
