Crocker, ING Snare Downtown Fort Lauderdale Site, $175M Tower Planned

Crocker Partners L.L.C. and ING Clarion Partners have bought a hard-to-find development site in downtown Fort Lauderdale and have preliminary plans to erect a $175 million hurricane-resistant building, named Atlantic Center. The site is now a 1.5-acre parking lot--for which the firm paid $14.9 million--at S.E Second St., just south of Broward Blvd.

Is anything happening with this? From the website http://www.atlanticcenterftl.com/default.asp it looks like a great addition to the downtown skyline.

Growing up in Ft Lauderdale I can remember when the Landmark Bank Building (not sure who is in it now) across the street from this was built.
