Holland Kerstmarkt

Has anyone been to the 8th Street Market during the holiday season this year? They have their Kerstmarkt going on, which is kinda nice. The 8th Street Market is way cool, and with the new police/city offices, it's a pretty seemless walkable area from downtown to the marketplace.

We were there a couple of Saturday's ago during the day and downtown Holland was bumping!

There was talk of redeveloping an old industrial building along Kollen Park near the docks into a restaurant or something? Did that ever occur?

Also, are the cruise ships still stopping in Holland?

Boatwerks is the new restaurant at the site of the former Western Foundry. The city is really trying to push the western gateway to Kollen Park. The next major piece of that puzzle will be what they do with the old Civic Center.

Boatwerks is actually located on the old work yard of Lake Michigan Contractors( LMC). The Western Foundry site is located to the west of former LMC offices which are located in the old Ice House next to the Boatwerks property.

Van Raalte Ave, a public right of way that has not been vacated to the best of my knowledge, runs between the Boatwerks and the LMC offices.
