Holland traffic calming, etc.

I'd be interested in hearing some opinions on the new configuration of River and Michigan avenues from the River Avenue Bridge all the way south to 28th Street. I know it's winter and the full effect of the changes is yet to be felt, but it sure feels a lot different -- from the closing of NB Pine at Michigan to the new island in front of the Park theatre, the left turn only lane on eastbound 9th street at River, etc. Plus, the beautification of Pine avenue adds to the mix. This is nearly the final piece of a multi-year re-do of downtown's main sterets. The last remaining portion will be the roundabout at 8th/Chicago Drive/Fairbanks, near the DeVos Fieldhouse.

What do you think about all of this? Do you think the city is on the right track?
