Well folks, I was hoping to capture the fixed crane install today, but they are moving a lot slower than my anticipation!  I am however quite happy with how this timelapse turned out.  At least we get to see 2 mobile cranes getting installed!  Bad news is that I will not be able to shoot any timelapse footage tmrw thru Tues, so I hope nothing big happens until then.

Childress Klein site crane installation from 7:30am to 1:30pm 5/17/2013.  This is best viewed in full screen and also change it to 720P HD.  I didnt crop this one because I didnt want to lose the tree activity at Bearden park in the foreground.  I'll post the entire install on Monday.  Enjoy this for now!

well, i checked the rest of my footage, and they actually went a bit higher than I thought, so I was not able to capture the entire install and the video above is the best I can do.  The good news is the crane is fully installed and functional.  Lets go UP!

Here is today's timelapse of the construction of the South Mint Apartments by Childress Klein.  Is it me, or does that crane look quite unstable?!!

This is 4000 photos taken on 5 second intervals between 9am and 2pm.  encoded at 24 frames per second.  Slowly but surely, this thing is rising!

Am I'm I the only one who missed the announcement last month that the Catalyst is filling up some of their vacant street level retail space with a Mello Mushroom?

I am so looking forward to next spring/summer and the new 3rd ward! total transformation.
It's going to change the way and where I currently spend free time in uptown.

I figured it was too.. and more than likely posted by you! lol

I did a search on the entire UP Charlotte Forum for 'Mellow Mushroom' and nothing came up as I try to be a responsible UP're and dig a bit before I go all willy nilly haphazardly posting repeat posts tat no one wants to re-read.

My pleasure ;-). Lol, I'm glad you brought it up again, Its a terrific addition to the 3rd ward area! Can't wait to walk around when I'm in town in July!
